Eid al Fitr 9 April
known as the ‘Holiday of Breaking the Fast’, Eid Al Fitr directly follows Ramadan. Astronomers predict that Ramadan will begin on Monday March 11, 2024. If this is accurate, Eid al Fitr will fall almost a month later on Tuesday, April 9, 2024. If this takes place, UAE workers look set to enjoy a nine-day weekend.
Easter 29 March to 1 April
Spend the long Easter weekend in London enjoying egg hunts, themed attractions, Easter-specific performances or a Sunday lunch. Good Friday and Easter Monday are bank holidays in the UK.
The TCS London Marathon 12 April

Nye 24 February – 11 May National Theatre South Bank
Wales’s most beloved man of the twenty-first century Michael Sheen playing Wales’s most beloved man of the twentieth century Aneurin Bevan is so obvious it almost feels a bit on the nose – especially as Sheen has already been very public about his idolisation of the politician affectionately still widely know as Nye. But don’t expect a cosy hagiography from playwright Tim Price: his new drama ‘Nye’ is being billed as ‘an epic Welsh fantasia’ that sees a dying Bevan look back trippily on his life, from working as a miner to founding the NHS.
London Tide 10 April – 22 June National Theatre South Bank
PJ Harvey writes the songs for Ben Power’s adaptation of Charles Dickens’s ‘Our Mutual Friend’, rechristened ‘London Tide’. Directed by Ian Rickson, it follows the chain of events set into motion when a body is pulled out of the Thames. The cast includes Bella Maclean, Tom Mothersdale and Ami Tredea.

25 years after its first staging, Complicite bring their astonishing, transfixing, transcendent production’ back to the National Theatre.

When Form Comes Alive 7 February – 6 May Hayward Gallery
‘When Forms Come Alive – Sixty Years of Restless Sculpture’ is the Hayward Gallery’s first exhibition of 2024 and will feature the work of 21 artists from across the world.
It is an interesting, engaging collection of work inspired by movement, flux and the natural patterns of growth, from the grace of a dancer to the rhythmic breaking of waves or the flow of liquid metal.
