 Meet Head Chef Iwona Lach

Iwona is originally from Poland and having travelled internationally she decided to stay in London. and has been living here for over 10 years.

Home cookery is hugely important in Poland. Iwona’s philosophy is to create healthy, tasty meals made with good quality ingredients. She now combines international recipes that she learnt on her travels and is introducing dairy free and vegan options to her menu. Even her chips are healthy. “I love food, and want to share my food with people to give all them the best”

Being a Chef involves long hours and can be tough but it is also hugely rewarding. Having baked cakes from the age of 12, Iwona started her career with D&D London (Butlers Wharf Chophouse and Paternoster Chop House) offering to work Sundays unpaid to learn the skills of a Commis Chef. Iwona is truly grateful to the Head Chef who was so impressed with her attitude and commitment, that after a year working in the kitchen D&D sponsored her college education to train as a Chef. Iwona’s experience includes stations at Fish Works, Tom’s Kitchen, The Jugged Hare and Marco Pierre White’s restaurant at Chelsea Football Club.

What you won’t know… Iwona loves to sing, plays guitar as well as drums, is forming a band and writes her own songs. She also loves dogs, which is perfect for us as a dog friendly hotel and will be creating homemade dog treats for our four-pawed guests.
