Greenwich Music Time Old Royal Naval College 3-8 July
A four day series of al fresco concerts in the grounds of the Old Royal Naval College overlooking the Thames are part of the six-day riverside summer festival. In its fifth year the line-up includes Emile Sande, Sir Tom Jones, Steps, Neil Gallaghers High Flying Birds and Il Divo.
Summer 2018 Music Events at The O2
Artists performing at The O2 this summer include: Katy Perry, Scorpions and Megadeath, Yes, Demi Lovato, Quincy Jones, Queen with Adam Lambert, Justin Timberlake, The Arctic Monkeys, Kylie Minogue and The Muppets. Events include the World Boxing Championship and WWE Live.
Classical Season 2018, The Southbank Centre
This season’s highlights include: two concerts from Andris Nelsons and the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig, the first performances of Stockhausen’s Donnerstag aus Licht in the UK since 1985; Mitsuko Uchida performing two Mozart piano concertos with the Mahler Chamber Orchestra; recitals from Leonidas Kavakos and Yuja Wang, Maurizio Pollini, and Pierre-Laurent Aimard; a festival of new music by international composers featuring London Sinfonietta, Ensemble Modern, Aurora Orchestra and Claire Chase; as well as the European premiere of a new work from Philip Glass, in tribute to the chameleon genius of pop mastermind David Bowie.
Africa Utopia is an annual festival celebrating the arts and culture of one of the world's most dynamic and fast-changing continents. Championed by Senegalese singer and human rights advocate Baaba Maal, the annual programme features a range of talks, workshops, music, performances, fashion and food. Headlining the festival in 2018 are husband and wife musical duo, Amadou & Mariam, who play from their latest album, La Confusion, and Chineke! Orchestra who present an exhilarating, jazz-infused programme.
London Bridge City’s Summer by the River
Starting on 1 June on the banks of the Thames is a 3 month long line-up promising an exciting array of events and entertainment. Stretching along the riverside from London Bridge to Tower Bridge, the free English country garden themed festival will play host to music performances, live comedy, outdoor cinema screenings and much more, with each day of the week based around a different theme.
