Easter in London
Whilst the official Easter dates are 10 April 2020 to 13 April 2020, with the holidays in mind keep the whole family entertained over Easter with our roundup of the best things to do during Easter 2020 in London. From Easter egg hunts and special Easter events for kids and grownups, you can plan a fun-filled Easter break in the capital.

Easter Egg Hunts
Embark on a free and epic Easter Eggs-pedition around the Bank of England Museum, then craft your very own rabbit or sheep mask! Various dates in April
Or search for treasure and take part in the Easter Extravaganza. This Easter Egg hunt with a difference is hosted at The Royal Mews, Buckingham Palace between 11 and 13 April 2020. As well as following a treasure trail around the Royal Mews to win chocolate prizes, children can make Easter arts and crafts too, such as jewel-covered Easter eggs.
Race the clock in an egg-cellent Easter Treasure Hunt for all ages at the Victoria & Albert Museum, as you mix adventure and education. 11 April
Something a little different
Southbank Centre Take the whole family to the Southbank Centre for a host of Easter events, many of which are free, including a Pedal Power Disco, a Family Tree Trail and gardening and craft workshops. 4-19 April
London Transport Museum Follow a trail of clues with the little ones to track down Billy Brown, a special character from London's transport history, at the London Transport Museum this Easter. 4-19 April
The Bucket Race Competitive folks, this one's for you. Embark on a four-hour Bucket Race around London, exploring its secret corners. How quick will you be? 11 Apr.
The Garden Museum Celebrate the best of Britain's gardens at this museum on the banks of the river Thames. The Garden Museum tells the history of gardening, from early garden planning to the latest in garden gnomes. Displays include items from 16th-century naturalist John Tradescant’s collections, new garden-inspired art from contemporary and historical artists, as well as stories behind famous gardens. 2.4miles from the hotel, 25 minutes on puclic transport or 40 minutes walk across to Lambeth
Nickelodeon Big Base Camp This huge family experience comes to London from 4 to 13 April 2020. Children can do everything from learning superhero skills to getting involved in Nickelodeon’s famous SLIME TIME. Children will also be able to meet some of their favourite characters, including SpongeBob SquarePants and the cast of PAW Patrol.
Harry Potter Step into Harry Potter's Forbidden Forest and meet its mystical creatures at Warner Bros. Studio Tour London
Look out for Easter family fun at more of London’s top 10 top attractions, one of which is The Shard, just a 12 minute walk from the hotel, head up to The View from The Shard for family activities this Easter in London.

Theatreland, Classics, Ballet or Dancing!
Shrek The Musical Take in a show, for the family see Shrek and his friends’ story in musical form at Shrek the Musical at The Bob Hope Theatre. 9-18 Apr.
Royal Albert Hall Enjoy an annual Easter tradition, Handel’s Messiah, on Good Friday with a performance by the Royal Choral Society at the Royal Albert Hall. 10 April
English National Ballet My First Ballet: Cinderella A production especially for children by the English National Ballet and the English National Ballet School, this special adaptation of Cinderella will truly thrill the little ones. Held at Sadler’s Wells, a shortened version of the ballet complete with a narrator will give children aged three and up a first taste of going to the ballet.

Good Friday and Easter Monday are both public holidays. Most attractions are open over the Easter bank holiday, but check with individual venues in advance; particularly to find what is open on Easter Sunday in London. Shops are closed on Easter Sunday, except small shops which may open for a few hours.
